Water Baby

On Thursday, Mommy and I started our "Mommy and
Me" swim classes at Kids First Swim in Perry Hall! I had only
gone in a big pool one time before and liked it, so Mommy
was pretty sure things were going to go well.

When we got to the pool, Mommy carried me in and I didn't complain
once! I was really liking getting carried around and feeling the warm
water. Then class began...

Apparently, this teacher likes to hear babies cry, because right out of
the gate, she told our mommies to dunk us underwater! Well, I was not
at all prepared for this and Mommy did not follow directions very well.
I ended up choking and gagging for a few minutes and then decided
that this pool thing may not have been that cool after all.

After a bit of crying and whining, the games started to be fun
and I was enjoying floating around with the noodle and holding the...
wait for it...RUBBER DUCKIES (!) that were floating all around the
pool.

The next time the teacher told Mommy to dunk me under, I was
more prepared, and Mommy followed instructions and guess what?
It wasn't that bad!

All in all, I think that swim class is not going to be that bad. It helps
that my BFF Jules is also in my class and that I get some special
Katelynn and Mommy time! Daddy came this week to take
some pictures. Check them out!

Ten Months Already!!!

Well it has happened. I have officially entered into double digit
months! On Monday, I turned 10 months old! Mommy and Daddy
and I still don't know how that happened so fast.
Mommy and Daddy are already hard at work, planning my big first
birthday. It's going to be a duck theme because I love ducks! In fact,
"duck" was my first "real" word. Oh yeah, I should have mentioned, I
kind of talk now. I'm a pretty big deal. In addition to "duck" (which
I say pretty much all the time), I have also started to say "ball", "book",
"hi" (sometimes), "ba-ba" (meaning bottle), and for some reason "pool".
*Side note: We have no pool at our house and my first dip into a baby
pool was not such a success*

Other than talking away, I have been busy trying to walk. I have
not officially taken any actual unassisted steps (that weren't
in an attempt not to fall), but Mommy and Daddy predict that this is
the month. I will run all over the house holding Mommy and Daddy's hands
or using my push behind stroller from Grammy, but still am not quite
ready to be left to my own devices. I am standing on my own for longish
periods of time, so that is a start! We'll keep everyone posted!

I also got to spend Mommy's first Mother's Day with her on May 9th.
We had a really fun day! Me and Daddy went to the store and made
Mommy a yummy breakfast and then we got dressed. Then we went
to Towson Town Mall because it was too cold for Daddy's first plan
of a day at the zoo and the Inner Harbor. We did a lot of browsing in the
mall and then we went to Babies R Us for some toys for ME! When we got
home, I took a nice nap and Daddy made Mommy a delicious dinner.
I really think Mommy loved her day!

In other news, I got my very first haircut last Sunday! Mommy
and Daddy took me to Cartoon Cuts at White Marsh Mall
to get some bangs cut. If you have not seen me recently
you should know that my hair was super long (especially
in front) and I am not cooperating with Mommy so
much anymore to have the adorable piggytails put in every
morning. So drastic actions had to be taken!
I was most definitely not a fan of getting my hair cut, and spent
most of the 5 minutes bawling my little eyes out! Thankfully, the lady did
a nice job and I can actually see things again...plus I look pretty
adorable too!

Other than that, life has been pretty normal around here. I am
having a great time getting outside for walks and playing
with my toys with Mommy and Daddy. I love our brand new deck also!
I can't wait until Daddy seals it so I can play out there all summer!
Mommy and I are getting ready for Mommy's summer vacation
and all the fun we are going to have! Stay tuned for more of my
"Kapades" this summer!

Big Nine Month Old!

Hey everybody! On Friday, I celebrated my NINE month birthday!
I have been having so much fun with Mommy and Daddy and have
been very busy!

I am now walking all over the house by holding onto Mommy
and Daddy's fingers and even tried the stairs the other day
(with help from Daddy of course)! I am finally enjoying some
finger foods (Lil' Crunchies are my favorite) and am eating
some big girl meals. I'm still working on perfecting the use
of my sippy cup though. I'm awesome at drinking from a
cup without a lid, if someone holds it for me, but I just do not
love the sippy.  I've been doing a lot of pulling up and have also
started doing "soooo big"!

I am 8 Months Old!!!

That's right folks I am now officially 8 months old (ok and a week or two
but who's counting??)! I really want to walk, and I just want to be standing
all the time. I am done with this crawling thing. Sometimes
I can pull myself up, but not always. I have practiced some walking
with the help of my toy stroller that Grammy bought me for
Christmas (see the video below). I am working on lots of new
words like "da-da" and "ma-ma". I also  say "hi" sometimes, and I really like to wave,
especially to myself in the mirror. I eat three good big girl meals
a day now, and am working on puffs and lil' crunchies. I also have learned how
to clap, crawl on my hands and knees, and sit up all on my own within
the last 3 days! I'm pretty sure we are close to getting another
tooth too because I've been chewing on my hands and a little fussy
in the evenings. The past few weeks has been very busy with Easter and
getting a new cousin. I even got to go to Baby Olivia's baptism last
weekend! With the weather warming up, Mommy and Daddy have been
getting me outside for plenty of walks and trips to the park. Check out some
pictures of my travels and adventures!

I'm a Big Cousin!!!

This morning at 10:03 AM, my brand new cousin Olivia Marie was born!
She is a little peanut of a thing, weighing in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 inches long.
I haven't gotten to meet her yet...stupid hospital rules, but I'm super
excited! Mommy and Daddy did get to go visit and brought back some
really cute pictures. Congratulations Aunt Holly, Uncle Rich, and
Zachary!

We are proud to introduce little Olivia!

I am 7 month's old today!!

Well another month has come and gone, the time is just flying by!

We can't believe it has been 7 month's already. I am really starting

to move with the crawling (see below), and I am working

on a couple of more teeth. I have started drinking from

a sippy cup, and am really digging lots of new foods

that Mommy and Daddy have been giving me. I have

been really good about taking naps lately, which Mommy

and Daddy really seem to love. I have also started to "wave"

when people wave to me, however it only seems to be

when I am laying down.
That's all for now. Enjoy the usual adorable pictures!

No pictures please! I'm in a meeting!

What? Is my hair sticking up???
